“Art for Change” June Term Exhibit

The 2022 June Term class “Art for Change: Constructing an Art Installation for a Cause,” taught by Mr. Torson, was charged with making an art installation in response to pressing and relevant social justice issues. The students created “Four Freedoms,” an exhibit based on four illustrations by Norman Rockwell, who was inspired in turn by the freedoms outlined in Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s 1941 State of the Union Address: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship, Freedom from Want and Freedom from Fear. Mr. Torson’s June Term students put a modern twist on these freedoms, with the goal of making “a commentary on how we are still striving for all of these freedoms today.”
