Amid the plethora of college work that seniors are currently dealing with, I thought it would be groovy to look back at our past senior friends who went through this arduous process before us, and see what college is really like. I mean we’re working our tiny little fingers to the bone everyday for something we might not ultimately like! Here, a few personal buds help you seniors see what lies in store…
Gracie McNeely- For those of you who never had the grace of meeting her, Gracie McNeely simply was Newark Academy. An avid Sheryl Crow fan, she put a smile on everyone’s faces through her vibrant dancing and cultural cuisine. Gracie has so kindly offered her top ten things that she has learned so far!
Top ten Things I’ve learned at College so Far
- College is hard.
- Re-learning how to make friends after seven years at the same school is also hard.
- Not having a dress code rocks!
- NA is really really really small.
- Wherever you go, people are genuinely interested in intellectually stimulating topics.
- Sometimes your professors will make you cry.
- Naps make a huge difference.
- Having access to unlimited buffet is both bad and good.
- After being surrounded by 18-22 year olds, seeing babies and/or old people on campus is weird.
- *You’ll miss NA.
*Lol Jk. But actually. I miss NA.
Jeffery X. Peng- Jeff simply was a bro. Did we know he played lacrosse? Of course! Constantly he would reference his lettuce (even though he had a buzz cut) and would more often than not flail his UVA lacrosse lanyard around one too many times. But we put up with it and loved him, and obviously wish him the best at Boston College where he studies Samurai sword making. Here’s the interview I had with him….
“Jeff what was your first thought when you arrived at Boston College?”
“ I need more vineyard vines.”
“ Interesting fact?”
“ Its not even in Boston… who calls their school Boston College when its not even in Boston? There are so many schools in Boston that could have been called Boston College. I mean seriously. I could name you right now 20 schools in Boston proper that could have used the name better… Like think of Boston what comes to mind? Colleges! And the one school called Boston College isn’t even in Boston. Disgusting.”
Wise words from a wise old sage.
Tucker Robert Iverson-You can only describe Tucker Iverson through his four shining traits: Fencer extraordinaire; Die Hard Conservative; A below average Humor Editor; Diminuendo all state.
Tucker Iverson could not say anything because, “Hurricane Sandy lifted up my dorm and transported me to Oz.” He is expected to return home by Hannukah.
