With college decisions season upon us, a reference guide of 16 conversation topics has been assembled for friends of seniors. Here’s what to talk about instead of college decisions:
- The weather- the classic conversation starter can help you get a conversation going, or change the current topic. Always exciting.
- Their mother- Mark Wahlberg’s method- just ask “How’s your mother?” in a thick Boston accent.*
- That time your pants fell down in pre-school and you cried and ran to the corner- That’s happened to everyone, right?
- You have something in your teeth. Enamel! Haha. Good Joke. May result in punching.
- The banjo- it’s an instrument. Discuss.
- The game- did you catch it? This weekend?
- Community on NBC- it’s a great TV show. Check it out. This is just a very genuine tip.
- “So…” then walk away.
- I think my mom is calling me.
- That time your pants fell down in junior year and you cried and ran to the corner.
- Airline food- What’s the deal with it?
- Them Yankees- How ‘bout them?
- Where babies come from.
- Your love life- or lack thereof…
- The Impending Apocalypse- repent!
*Does not work on Batman. Or Harry Potter.
