In the Fall semester at NA, the middle school football team ran short on players, preventing the small group of students from playing against other schools. But with determination, the athletes found a way to get enough students to sign up and join the team, allowing them to compete in the football schedule. Players such as sixth-grader Kyle Fink, went up to every middle schooler to recruit more people. Originally, the team needed 12 kids to sign up in order to play but fell just short with just 11 players. When I asked Kyle why so few students signed up, he said that because of the team’s bad record last year, students would not want to join a losing team. He also said that there are some bigger and stronger kids than some players which also increases the risk of injury. Still, with only 14 kids on the team, it hasn’t stopped them from winning versus NA’s opponents. Coming off a massive victory a few weeks ago was a great start for the team against MKA beating them 32-0. Go MS Football!
