2008 was a big year for the world. A decade ago, Uber, Bitcoin, Spotify and Tesla started. Marvel Studio also started their plan to create a movie empire. In the past decade, Marvel has released 18 films that lead up to Infinity War including, the Incredible Hulk, three Iron Mans, three Captain Americas, two Avengers, three Thors, two Guardians of the Galaxies, Ant-man, Doctor Strange, Spiderman: Homecoming, and the Black Panther. The plethora of movies listed above have all had plots that are intertwined with the new Avengers: Infinity War movie. Marvel had put a lot of money and time into this building up to Infinity wars, and it paid off. Disney invested about $316 million into the budget for the film. Avengers: Infinity War is already the fourth-biggest global grosser of all time and the biggest Summer movie ever in unadjusted global grosses. Avengers: Infinity War also holds the record of grossing $1 billion the fastest. It topped $1 billion in 11 days just beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens which previously held the record with 12 days. On May 16th, the movie’s global total was around $1.675 billion. What’s next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe though? The next movie is going to be Ant-Man and the Wasp following-up on the Paul Rudd-starring Ant-Man. After Ant-Man, Captain Marvel will be up next to bat in the box office. After these two superhero movies, the Avengers (or what’s left of them) will return to the big screen. The movie is still untitled and set to be released in 2019. Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo have said that the reveal of the film’s title would ultimately spoil the events of Infinity War which has, of course, led to rampant fan speculation. Could this film’s mystery title hint at the rule of Thanos?
Fans of the MCU can not hold their excitement. Fans have been given another gift after Marvel bought rights from 21st Century fox. With these new rights Marvel is now able to do movies with new characters. These new characters include the X-Men and Fantastic Four.
