Standardized testing has created a great deal of controversy and distress. As high school students, we (unfortunately) experience the disappointment, the pressure, and the pride brought about by testing. The SAT and the ACT are used by colleges to compare students from different high schools around the world. While many students understand their need, many have also expressed their discontentment with such tests. Although the SAT and ACT are an integral part of the discussion, standardized testing ranges far beyond them. In fact, standardized testing is part of the Newark Academy application process.
