Field Trip Day 2013 was very successful. It was a fun event and many students loved it. It was a great way to get away from school life and socialize with your friends.

The 6th grade went to Sandy Hook. There, they participated in seine fishing and collecting seashells. Ava Sharahy, a sixth grader on the trip, said, “it was really fun and my favorite part was seining and collecting animals with the net.” Ms. Tavares, the sixth grade team leader, stated, “We had fantastic weather and we could even see Jersey City from the beach.”

The 7th grade embarked on a trip to the Intrepid Museum in New York City.  The Intrepid was used during WWII as an aircraft carrier. Additionally, the space shuttle Enterprise was on the ship. Simon Gorbaty, a 7th grader, was asked about his favorite part of the trip. He said “it was the space shuttle pavilion.”  Mr. Johnson, the seventh grade math teacher, stated, “I loved it, and my favorite part was the space shuttle.” All in all, the trip was very successful.

The 8th grade went into the wilderness. They went to Fairview Lake, a YMCA camp. There, they did team building games, went for a hike, and even went boating. John Barback, an eighth grader, said, “It was a fun trip.” Mr. Ball, the eighth grade Humanities teacher, stated “it was the best trip ever.”

Overall, Field Trip Day 2013 was very successful in the Middle School. Many students look forward to next year’s Field Trip Day and hope it will be just as fun.
