Dear Carissa,
I really enjoyed reading your article last week, your advice really paid off. In fact, I got asked to senior prom! But now I have a new dilemma…I’ve been told I look like an alligator wearing high heels when I try to dance. How do I improve my skills so I can look like Ms. Lux wearing ballet shoes, and not a croc in pumps?

Dear Croc in Pumps,
I’m glad my previous article helped you score a date to senior prom. However, your current circumstances are serious and time is limited. I’m glad you came to me, Carissa, because, trust me, you don’t want to dance around this issue! Ah, I remember my first prom. Sweet, sweet memories. I had the finest date on the block. His name was Elton. Yes, Sir Elton John. He thought I was a gem. To this day, he refers to me as “the one that got away.” In fact, his 1971 hit song, “Tiny Dancer,” is about yours truly. Unfortunately, not all of us can be born with my astounding dancing abilities; however, there is a solution to your issue. I suggest you go to your local Blockbuster and purchase Darrin’s Dance Grooves. Darrin will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to dance to the most happening songs of the time, like *NSYNC’s “Bye, Bye, Bye.”
Also, it is crucial that you travel on down to the Colorado Café to learn how to line dance. All the kids are line dancing these days. You would look like a misplaced Alligator in heels if you didn’t know how to line dance at prom. Finally, if you have time, go see an off-Broadway production of the Nutcracker. I’m sure the dancers won’t mind if you try to mimic what they are doing on stage. That is by far the best way to learn. So try any of these learning techniques, and I guarantee you will ‘croc’ your date’s world.
Best of luck!
—Carissa
